EPL: Ten Hag updates on return of Christian Eriksen
Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has confirmed that midfielder Christian Eriksen will train with the first team today.
Ten Hag said this on Tuesday ahead of Man United’s Premier League tie with Brentford on Wednesday.
Eriksen has been out of action for over two months due to injury.
The Denmark international had a nasty challenge from striker Andy Carroll in an FA Cup win against Reading in January.
Initial assessments suggested the former Tottenham Hotspur star could miss the majority of the remainder of the season and would return in late April or early May.
However, Eriksen’s recovery has been quicker than expected, according to Ten Hag.
“Not for tomorrow but he is returning on the pitch,” Ten Hag told reporters.
“He is returning into team training today, so we have to see now how quickly he can make progress.”
