Green Bank: Tatiana Maslany & Jasmin Savoy Brown to Lead Sci-Fi Horror Movie
According to Variety, Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany and Yellowjackets star Jasmin Savoy Brown have officially signed on for the leading roles in Protagonist Pictures’ forthcoming sci-fi horror movie titled Green Bank. The project hails from rising horror filmmaker Josh Ruben, who’s best known for his works in the independent horror comedies Scare Me and Werewolves Within.
“In a marketplace where original, horror-thrillers slay at the box office, we need no further proof that audiences want to have fun at the movies again,” Ruben said in a statement. “That’s the magic word. Fun. Horror is the bulletproof genre, and ‘Green Bank’ has the full package — it’s smart, scary, and wickedly funny.”
Green Bank will be directed by Ruben from a screenplay written by Aaron Horwitz. The film is being produced by Andy Horwitz for Big Swell Entertainment. The film will take place in a real American town, where Wi-Fi, cell service, and other radio transmissions are prohibited.
“It follows infant sleep-trainer Sloan (Brown), who realizes that the parents of the child she’s caring for are much more than the clueless yuppies they seem to be,” reads the logline.
Maslany gained recognition for her acclaimed multi-role performance in the sci-fi drama Orphan Black, which earned her an Emmy Award for Best Actress. She recently made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut on the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As for Brown, she will be reprising her role as the teenage version of Taissa Turner on the highly-anticipated second season of Yellowjackets. She will also next be seen in Scream VI starring alongside Jenna Ortega.
