Christian Slater & 10 More Join Cast of Zoë Kravitz's Pussy Island
According to Deadline, Zoë Kravitz’s feature directorial debut Pussy Island has officially finalized its cast with the addition of 11 new cast members who will be joining previously announced leads Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, and Simon Rex.
Golden Globe winner Christian Slater and Oscar-winner Geena Davis along with Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Adria Arjona (Morbius), and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) have been tapped for the project, which is currently now in production in Mexico.
Haley Joel Osment (Goliath), Liz Caribel Sierra (God’s Time), Levon Hawke (The Crowded Room), Trew Mullen (Sunny Family Cult), Saul Williams (Akilla’s Escape) have also been enlisted for undisclosed roles in the upcoming MGM film.
“In Pussy Island, Frida is a young, clever, Los Angeles cocktail waitress who has her eyes set on the prize: philanthropist and tech mogul Slater King (Tatum),” reads the synopsis. “When she skillfully maneuvers her way into King’s inner circle and ultimately an intimate gathering on his private island, she is ready for a journey of a lifetime. Despite the epic setting, beautiful people, ever-flowing champagne, and late-night dance parties, Frida can sense that there’s more to this island than meets the eye. Something she can’t quite put her finger on. Something that is a bit terrifying.”
The film is being directed by Zoe Kravitz from a screenplay she co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum (High Fidelity). Kravitz most recently starred as the new Catwoman/ Selina Kyle in Matt Reeves’ blockbuster hit The Batman.
Pussy Island is being produced by Bruce Cohen, Kravitz, Tiffany Persons, and Tatum’s Free Association. The film is a co-production between This Is Important, Free Association, and Bruce Cohen Productions.
