Brentford in advanced talks to sign free agent Christian Eriksen
Brentford are in advanced talks to sign free agent Christian Eriksen.
The Mirror says Eriksen is expected to complete a sensational return to the Premier League and sign for Brentford in the next three days.
The former Tottenham midfielder has not played since suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at the European Championships in June 2021.
He was released by Inter Milan last month as Serie A rules do not allow players to take to the field with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), which Eriksen has been fitted with.
The 29-year-old will be announced as a Brentford player 'inside the next 72 hours' because all that is left to do is for him to pass a medical.
The report adds that despite offers from other Premier League teams and sides in the Netherlands and Germany, Eriksen believes that the Bees are the best club for him as he seeks to earn a place in Denmark's World Cup squad later this year.
