High School Musical Season 3 to Cover Frozen Songs, Cast Revealed

Disney+ has announced the production on the upcoming third season of the hit teen comedy-drama High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has officially started in Los Angeles.

In addition to covering more songs from the High School Musical films, it has also been confirmed that the new installment will feature the cast performing music from Disney’s blockbuster hit Frozen and the iconic Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock.

The streamer has also announced High School Musical Season 3’s guest-star lineup which consists of Disney vets Meg Donnelly (Disney’s Zombies franchise) as a Camp Counselor-in-training named Val, Jason Earles (Hannah Montana) as Camp director Dewey Wood, and High School Musical franchise star Corbin Bleu as himself.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is a mockumentary musical teen drama that follows a group of students at East High who stage a performance of High School Musical for their winter theater production, only to realize that as much drama is also happening offstage.

“Season three is set at Camp Shallow Lake, a family-owned sleepaway camp in California, as the Wildcats and their fellow campers stage a high-stakes production of Frozen and determine who is “best in snow,” reads the logline.

Joining the third season as new series regulars are newcomer Adrian Lyles as Camp Shallow Lake’s mysterious new kid Jet, and Saylor Bell as bright-eyed, quick-witted “techie,” named Maddox.

The series currently stars Olivia Rodrigo as Nini, Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Matt Cornett as E.J., Sofia Wylie as Gina, Julia Lester as Ashlyn, Dara Reneé as Kourtney, Frankie Rodriguez as Carlos, Kate Reindeers as Miss Jenn, and Olivia Rose Keegan as Lily.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is executive produced by Tim Federle (Ferdinand) and Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars) along with the original film’s EPs Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush.
