Indian Doctors Perform Heart Surgery on Unborn Baby
You can’t argue with Indians when it comes to Medical Solutions. Doctors in Hyderabad, India have achieved a ground-breaking record after they performed heart surgery on a foetus.
The unborn child had a serious condition that would have become incurable once it was delivered and this led surgeons to take the risk of performing the corrective operation with the baby still in its mother’s womb.

The 25-year-old mother, Sirisha and her husband, 29-year-old Arun registered their joy at the success of the procedure and are happy that they can expect a healthy baby.
Dr. K Nageswara Rao who performed the surgery said:
“At 25-26 weeks, the left ventricle started deteriorating, getting damaged and shrinking. We realized this is going to be a serious condition where the left side of the heart will be too small and not useful and it won’t be possible to perform surgery after birth. So we decided to go for this procedure called foetal aortal volvotomy.”
The surgery, which is the first of its kind, was performed by 12 specialists at the Care Hospital.
