Apple TV+ Murder Mystery Series The Afterparty Gets Release Date

The Apple TV+ murder mystery comedy series The Afterparty has set its release date and will land early next year on the streaming platform.

According to a recent report from TV Insider, The Afterparty will debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, January 28, 2022, with three episodes dropping at once. The following five episodes will release weekly, finishing out the eight-episode season sometime in March.

The Afterparty is created and directed by Chris Miller, who is also serving as the showrunner. The series stars Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Sam Richardson (Veep), Zoë Chao (Love Life), Ben Schwartz (Space Force), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project), Ilana Glazer (Broad City), Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag), Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist) and John Early (Search Party).

“The series centers on a murder mystery at a high school reunion,” reads the logline. “Each of the eight episodes features a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual style and film genre to match the teller’s personality.”

The Afterparty is executive produced by Oscar and Golden Globe-winning duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord. through their Lord Miller Productions banner as part of their expansive five-year overall television deal with Sony Pictures Television. It is produced by Aubrey Lee with Anthony King set as an executive producer.
