PDP governors meet today, Tambuwal vows 2023 comeback
PDP governors will meet in Uyo today to discuss Nigeria’s precarious situation as the party’s governors forum chairman Aminu Tambuwal vows the opposition will stage a comeback in 2023.
The Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, CID Maduabum, in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, said that the governors would also discuss various agitations.
Other issues on the agenda, according to Mr Maduabum, include emerging threats to democracy, the rule of law, and constitutionalism in Nigeria.
He explained that the governors would also discuss how to continue with good governance measures in their respective states. The governors pledged to provide the needed platform for the party to return to power at the federal level in 2023.
Mr Tambuwal, on Sunday, pledged at a state banquet organised by the Akwa Ibom government ahead of the meeting that the PDP governors would not disappoint Nigerians looking up to them to actualise their yearnings for the party to return to power in 2023.
“These star-studded leaders of PDP governors in their respective states and political generals are determined by the grace of God through your prayers, support, and cooperation, to rescue Nigeria.
“It is a task that we must accomplish to the glory of God and his glory alone.
“God on our side, we are determined as leaders, to provide that platform for the emergence of another PDP leadership in this country, come 2023,” said Mr Tambuwal said.
He urged Nigerians, especially religious leaders, to continue to pray for the country regarding the continued deterioration of insecurity.
“We need prayers. God is always there for his people and will never be tired of Nigeria for His glory,” the Sokoto governor added.
