The WandaVision making of documentary, streaming March 12, is one of a Disney+ series of behind-the-scenes looks at the MCU called ASSEMBLED.

One week after the season finale of WandaVision, a documentary special about the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+ will debut on the streamer. WandaVision focuses mainly on the alternate reality Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch seems to have created. In Westview, Vision is alive, and they're living as a family in a series of classic sitcom spoofs. Meanwhile, agents of S.W.O.R.D., the FBI, and astrophysicist Darcy Lewis from the Thor movies are trying to infiltrate the town Wanda appears to be in charge of.

WandaVision, currently the most popular TV show in the world, premiered January 15 with two episodes and has since released one new episode each Friday on Disney+. This echoes the streamer's release strategy for The Mandalorian, and it's certainly paid off. Theories have abounded in the days between episodes, and the action has built substantially each week. If WandaVision continues to follow its established release schedule, the ninth and final episode will be released March 5.

In a tweet, Disney+ announced a series of new documentaries called ASSEMBLED. They'll explore shows and movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, offering audiences a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite projects. The tweet suggests there is just one episode of ASSEMBLED for WandaVision, which also echoes the one-episode making of documentary about season 2 of The Mandalorian. Season 1 of the Star Wars series received an eight-episode documentary, with one episode released each week. However, following that multi-episode release template would leave no time for multiple ASSEMBLED episodes about WandaVision, considering the next Marvel Studios series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, premieres March 19, just one week after the WandaVision documentary.

Disney+ does need more original content, and Marvel fans will eat up anything MCU-related, so ASSEMBLED: The Making of WandaVision will likely draw many viewers. But quality-wise, the track record of making of documentaries on Disney+ has been hit or miss so far. The multiple-episode documentary about season 1 of The Mandalorian was overkill, although that was a groundbreaking series. The episode about the technology involved in making the show was interesting, but the documentary series may have been stronger overall with fewer installments. If the WandaVision doc were to be multiple episodes, it could be drawn-out, boring, and full of filler interviews. However, one episode of ASSEMBLED: The Making of WandaVision will likely be extremely interesting and informative, since nine episodes worth of footage and interviews will be condensed into one exciting special.
