Photos: Chinese Women Gather In Their Numbers To Mark World Breastfeeding Week

This week is the World Breastfeeding Week, an event celebrated every year from August 1 to 7 encouraging new mothers to breastfeed and improve the health of babies. These photos show mothers attending flash mobs in Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Xi’an, and Nanjing, to promote breastfeeding.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends mothers exclusively breastfeed infants from birth until they’re six months, citing the health benefits of mother's milk.
