Popular Nigerian singer and Marlian Records boss, Abdulazeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, has ignited a heated religious debate on social media, particularly on X, after making a statement about Jesus’ significance in Islam.

The artist, who is a practicing Muslim, shared his belief that any Muslim who does not acknowledge Jesus is not a true Muslim. His comment quickly gained traction, drawing reactions from both Christians and Muslims.

“No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus (Peace be upon him),” he wrote via his X handle.

In Islam, Jesus (known as Isa in Arabic) is regarded as a prophet and a messenger of God, sent to the Children of Israel with the Gospel. Muslims believe in his miraculous birth, his ability to perform miracles, and his eventual return before the end of time. However, they do not consider him divine or the Son of God, as Christians do.

Naira Marley’s statement sparked discussions in the comment section, with users debating theological perspectives from both religions. Some Muslims agreed with his point, emphasizing that belief in Jesus as a prophet is an essential part of Islamic faith.
